Happy New Year! The degrees of the Sun, Earth, and Venus tell us that this is going to be a wonderful year. The Sabian symbol for the degree of the Sun is “a cameo profile of a man in the outline of this country” and discusses how we will make our mark – an imprint – this year. The symbol for the degree of the Earth is “the dawn of a new day reveals everything changed” and discusses new beginnings, darkness abating, and letting go of what went before. The symbol for the position of Venus is “a new continent rising out of the ocean” and discusses an enormous potentiality emerging. Pretty nice, huh? This particular blend of energy is going to strengthen us at our very core. Today all of this begins so it is time to face forward and open up to new ways because this is potent energy that will bowl over anything that is not open to new ways of doing things. Being stubborn is not going to work out well today. I often talk about waves of energy, but the first day of the new year is always the strongest energetic wave of the year and in order to receive the maximum benefits, we need to allow space inside ourselves for it to enter and settle. Since the New Moon is conjunct Uranus, we can expect massive changes that happen very quickly this year- even more quickly than last year. The Earth will change. We will change. But all signs point toward the positive and we know that all we need to do to navigate the daily energies is ground ourselves firmly in Mother Earth and conjoin her journey as she hurtles through space. The thing to ponder is how do I want to make my mark this year?
